I am a teatrista, teacher and community activist. I believe that everyone has a story and everyone's story is important. Though my journey started as an actor, this fundamental belief has inspired me to direct, coach, produce and find ways to help people unleash their voice.

My passion for voice work led me to become an associate teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework. I have also been a member of the Voice and Speech Trainers Association for fifteen years, serving as chair of the Diversity Committee and on the VASTA Board. You can also find some of my work on accenthelp.com.

Theatrical projects for social change have been an important part of my journey.  I am a proud co-founder of the Royal Mexican Players with Alvaro Saar Rios. For over a decade we have offered workshops, devised community productions, and produced original works stirring up trouble across the United States. I had the honor of working with 371 Productions to devise and direct a live multimedia performance of Precious Lives, the popular weekly podcast about gun violence and young people in Milwaukee.

I am currently an Associate Professor of Voice and Speech and Artistic Director of Chicago Playworks at The Theatre School at DePaul (TTS). I am inspired and excited by my students and the amazing artists in Chicago each and every day.
